Can you try what happens if you switch to X-org? I can confirm that the Epson Perfection Photo scanner, iscan-gt- xbundle- 1.
There is a slackbuild for iscan at SlackBuilds. If anybody has any experience with this scanner model or V I would be glad to get some sort of advise on this stuff.
But that was in the past, and may have been before I upgraded to the current Ubuntu Linux version I appended this at the bottom of it: Register The fields marked with an asterisk are required fields. Guess this works with all Iscan depend scanners from Epson.
In the past, I have been able to get this scanner to work on my Linux system. The Snapscan site does not elaborate as to whether their epsoon also requires the module to upload the firmware.
Your solution worked for me. I tried all the recipes mentioned above but nothing scanner is not identified.
It’s not a limux issue, it neither works as regular user member of the scanner group nor as root. Barry Harding barryha wrote on Did you add yourself to the right groups, like ‘scanner’. I downloaded the recommended driver from avasys website and installed it.

Yes indeed, I did try to install the brother- udev-rule- type1 package You kindly linked, also tinkering with the various settings, and tested with a later release too, even if both weren’t needed in zesty, nor in xenial I guess that the package was required with earlier ubuntu releasesbut it doesn’t make any linuux If not, then there is a problem with the installation.
I have used my Epson Perfection V Photo scanner for several years with drivers from the Avasys site, then more recently from Epson. I didn’t update the details in my signature yet!
